Spirituality of Light in the Mosque by Exploring Iranian-Islamic Architectural Styles

The purpose of this study is to investigate the concept light and its interpretation in different styles Iranian-Islamic architecture. By distinguishing between content physical evaluation historical periods, one can find a way properly use patterns contemporary mosques. present has been conducted using descriptive-analytical method consists three stages. First, role mosque investigated, then qualitative quantitative data have classified. For purpose, ergonomic lighting index questionnaire analyzer software (ELI-calculator) used. Finally, examined analyzed by SPSS software. results research show that two criteria "quality vision" "visual comfort" great importance all periods mosques; but architects historic mosques paid more attention than "prospect" "vitality environment" difference statistically significant. Therefore, how shape openings their location applied affects satisfaction level person during worship.
